The Perth Bears continue to experience chaos within their four walls, with CEO Anthony De Ceglie losing support from the board.
De Ceglie was appointed Bears CEO in May 2025, and before landing the role, he was the Director of News and Current Affairs at Seven West Media and Editor-in-Chief at The West Australian.
He has three months to convince the board and the ARLC, or else the club will look for a new chief executive, according to News Corp.
A group of people wants De Ceglie out of the club immediately, as the club nears its first game in the NRL and have made their feelings known privately.
However, Peter V'landys has allowed the current CEO to earn support.
Under the Bears' constitution, the ARLC owns the club, and only they can approve a CEO, head coach, or head of football, which the Bears board can't do.
Since the Bears were elected, reports circulated of an 'uneasy' relationship between Mal Meninga and Ben Gardiner.
The club has also hired a new head of football, Gareth Holmes, after David Sharpe had a short stint in the role.
Perth have recently been linked to a double Rabbitohs raid, signing Latrell Mitchell and Cody Walker, with hopes of offering Mitchell a lucrative $1.7 million-per-season deal when it reaches November 1.
Perth have 27 players signed on for 2027, with three roster spots remaining.
They previously tried to lure AJ Brimson to the club for 2027 from the Gold Coast Titans, but Mal Meninga confirmed their salary cap is too tight.
