Parramatta forward Tony Williams is understood to have received a second illicit drugย  strike, according toย The Canberra Times.ย

If confirmed, Williams and his teammate Nathan Davis will face an automatic 12-match ban which would likely spell the end of their careers.

Williams was offered a one-year contract by Parramatta at the start of the 2018 season, but has managed just five appearances after a season ending ACL injury. The former Kangaroo already placed his tumultuous career in jeopardy earlier this year when he was found drink-driving in the off-season with three children in the car.

Williams is unlikely to find a place at another club in Australia or England, with his potential ban applying to both the NRL and Super League.

This incident stands as the cherry on top of a horror year for the Eels, who managed just six wins this season and earned the wooden spoon. It is understood that the club will not extend Williams or Davis a new deal for 2019.

Davis was unlikely to continue on with Parramatta even before this latest incident. He joined the club in 2017 but has earned just one first-grade appearance, playing mostly for feeder club Wentworth Magpies.
