Melbourne Storm representative centre Will Chambers has put pen to paper on a deal that will see him remain in the purple jersey until at least the end of the 2020 season.
The 29-year-old has been the in-form centre of the competition in 2017, which has seen him reclaim an Australian jersey as well as earning a recall to the Queensland side for Game I of the 2017 State of Origin series after injury sidelined him 2016.
Chambers made his debut in 2007 playing 42 games including Stormโs Grand Final win in 2009, before switching codes to rugby union for two seasons.
He returned to the Club in 2012, was part of the premiership side the year and has been a mainstay on Stormโs right edge for a further 117 games.
Chambers sits fifth overall in games played from Stormโs current squad on 159, only behind Cameron Smith, Cooper Cronk, Billy Slater and Jesse Bromwich. His experience on and off the field has seen him elevated to the Clubโs senior leadership group this season.
Storm Football Director Frank Ponissi said the Club was extremely pleased to retain Chambers for a further three seasons.
โWill has grown up here at the Melbourne Storm, both as a person and as a footballer. It was important for us to retain Will as he is a member of our leadership group and brings valuable experience to our squad.
โHe is one of the leading centres in the competition and is forming a formidable partnership with Suli on the right side.
โWill has started the season in exceptional form and his selection in the Kangaroos and Queensland sides is testament to that.
โItโs fantastic to have him continue his career with us for at least another three seasons.โ
