The Wests Tigers have signed outside back Robert Jennings on a two-year deal, effective immediately.

22-year-old Jennings was the leading try scorer the South Sydney Rabbitohs in 2018 with 19 tries in 21 matches.

"Robert is a quality young man who Iโ€™ve worked with before and seen develop intoย the talented rugby league player he is," said head coach Michael Maguire said on the club website.

"He adds size, power and speed to our edges and is an excellent addition to our squad.

"Off the back of a strong season, I have no doubt he is going to fit extremely wellย into our systems and I looking forward to watching him take the next steps in his career at this club."

Good young backline. Really like the direction the Tigers are moving in. Not sure if Jacob liddle is a good enough young hooker would like to see them try sign Jayden Brailey for some competition when Farah leaves but itโ€™s looking better

  2. Life will be more pleasant for Jennings away from those mongrels at souffs. What type of a low life club leads a player on thjat if they can free up enough money he can stay and while he is training with them all off season they keep signing a stack of poor quality imports and then let Jennings go saying after we signed 10 imports for our transit lounge you miss out Jeno๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿคฃ unbelievable ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ‘

  3. How many wingers do the Tigers need? They’ve done this before and it hasn’t worked. If they had signed Michael Jennings I could understand because Masters needs someone to lead him and create room for him to run. Robert Jennings is a great winger. Corey Thompson was great before he got injured. He put in 110% when he played.

  4. Much I marveled this ungainly “fowl” to hear discourse so plainly, Though its answer little meaningโ€”little relevancy bore; For we cannot help agreeing that no living human being – Ever yet was blest with seeing bird above his chamber doorโ€”Bird or beast upon the sculptured bust above his chamber door, …. With such name as Woodchook, then Nevermore.โ€

  5. Agreed, and Parra was (according to the media at least) trying to do the same thing, which I wasn’t happy about.
I assume they’re going to try him, or possibly Nofoaluma at centre, or else Thompson becomes “first reserve” winger/FB?
Anyway, if you (the Tigers) don’t want Fonua (unless there’s a real disapline issue), I’d be happy for Parra to take him off your hands, because we need a centre.

  6. P.S WoodChook, perhaps the Bunnies were doing Jennings a favour, by allowing him access to their facilities/coaching staff etc whilst he was looking for another contract, given they (both parties) couldn’t agree on the terms of an extension.
Does that make me a “Penso Groupie”? I hope not, because I’m feeling a bit (a lot, very) dirty as it is sticking up for the Bunnies as much as I have of late.

  7. Tyger Tyger, burning bright,
    In the forests of the night;
    What immortal hand or eye,
    Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies,
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand, dare seize the fire?

And what shoulder, & what art,
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand? & what dread feet?

What the hammer? what the chain,
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp,
    Dare its deadly terrors clasp!

When the stars threw down their spears
And water’d heaven with their tears:
Did he smile his work to see?
Did he who made the Lamb make thee?

    Tyger Tyger burning bright,
In the forests of the night:
    What immortal hand or eye,
    Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

  8. As pedro says….keep ’em rollin’ boys, I have borrowed a line from Mental As Anything’s very first Australian Hit….”Whoa Hoa, the nips are getting bigger”.

  9. Just wondering why the Rabbits saw Ethan Lowe as being more important than Robert Jennings. Donโ€™t get me wrong. I really like Ethan Lowe but believe Robert Jennings could have offered more to the Rabbits.

  10. “What have we here, laddie? Mysterious scribblings? A secret code? No! Poems, no less! Poems, everybody!
The laddie reckons himself a poet!”

  11. You are an absolute idiot…
Jennings was offered a bloody good deal for a 39-game 2 seasons, Rookie who can’t bloody tackle.
Jennings let in 13 trys in 2018 but you never ever hear the Media mention that.
    Do you?
All you hear about is the 19 trys that everyone’s Grandmother could have scored.

His Manager Isaac Moses wanted more.
Richardson decided to Invest the money into other fine up and coming Rabbitohs players like Tom Amone, Ky Rodwell, Dean Hawkins and a bloke in our ISP who will be a good quality First Grader in 2020.
    Lachlan Walmsley.

  12. You can’t compare Jenning to Lowe as they play in different positions.
Lowe will NOT be at the Rabbitohs, the club has moved on and pinched Junior KIWI Tom Amone off Manly 2 weeks ago.
The Lowe business was 5 weeks ago, the rumours in the media are well behind the times and facts.
    That deal fell through.

Clubs have Rosters, Souths outside backs spots are filled.
For the amount, Jennings Manager was after the club bought 2 really good up and comers.

Jennings, we wish him all the best but just remember this…

It isn’t the amount of trys you score that makes you a First Grader.
It is the amount of trys you save that does!

Defence wins competitions and Jennings was the Rabbitohs worst defender of all 26 players in 2018.
He was directly responsible for letting in 13 trys in 2018.

Let us see how he goes when he isn’t playing with the best-attacking team in the Comp.
Walker, Johnston Sutton and Inglis made Jennings look good.

  13. You may write me down in history
    With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I’ll rise.

    Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
‘Cause I walk like I’ve got oil wells
    Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
    With the certainty of tides,
    Just like hopes springing high,
    Still I’ll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
    Bowed head and lowered eyes?
    Shoulders falling down like teardrops.
    Weakened by my soulful cries.

    Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don’t you take it awful hard
‘Cause I laugh like I’ve got gold mines
Diggin’ in my own back yard.

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I’ll rise.

    Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I’ve got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history’s shame
    I rise
Up from a past that’s rooted in pain
    I rise
I’m a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
    I rise
Into a daybreak that’s wondrously clear
    I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
    I rise
    I rise
    I rise up in 2019
    Go the Roosters

  16. ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคฃ “Defence wins competitions” Why then did soufffs sign Bennettโ“โ”โ“โ” His Broncos got a few thrashings last season like the semi against Saints 48-18 in fact Bennett’s coached Bronco’s last season let in 500 points just in the regular season. Jennings is not the only liability in defence. Graham and Johnston to high light a pair.๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ‘

  17. Your a fool, of course he is now useless he is leaving…. maybe because of his young age nobody has seen anywhere near how good he can be

  18. WoodChook the hypocrisy is real, your grub club sold out your 10 year 1 club halfback to buy Cronk and get a cheap premiership

  19. Fonua is a reserve grader, kidding yourself big time. Jennings will return to being a fringe first grader at best now that he wont have Inglis and Walker to spoon feed him untouched tries

  20. “Lowe will NOT be at the Rabbitohs, the club has moved on”
Hmmm, do you want to possibly rethink that bold statement? And here we were believing you that you work for Souths and are actually in the know.

  21. Oi 3 hats i posted this morning that lowe would sign with souths but you said souths wont sign him and have moved on. And i stated you heard it here first on another post/topic on zt its a great signing mate check my other post elsewhere we need lowe far more than jennings fact.
