The Warriors will look to rework hooker Isaac Luke's deal to remove a clause that would allow him to join a rival club on a lucrative deal, as reported by the NZ Herald.
It comes amid whispers that Parramatta are dangling a two-year $700,000 deal in front of Luke, an offer he could take up as part of his contract with the Warriors.
However, Luke confirmed on Tuesday that he was committed to New Zealand and his manager is now reportedly in negotiations about upgrading his deal and abolishing the get-out clause.
I'm pretty confident that we can get that result," Warriors coach Stephen Kearney told the NZ Herald.
"I've spoken to Bully. Obviously his family have been settled here for three years now so we'll see what transpires in the next 24 hours, but I'm pretty confident that we'll get that sorted."
Luke re-signed with the Warriors last year on a modest deal after failing to garner much interest from rival clubs.
The veteran could receive more money if he replicates his form from last season, however, it appears he is keen to remain at Warrior.
"Bully stuck his head into my office yesterday," New Zealand CEO Cameron George told the NZ Herald.
"He told me he's preparing well to play footy here and what he's reading in the papers is what he's reading. He hasn't had any discussions around another offer.
"I respect him for that. He's obviously been hearing a lot of noise so he just came and had a chat with me to clear the air."
Luke is racing the clock to be fit for round one as he recovers from shoulder surgery.
