The Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles drama continues into their last week of the 2018 season with brothers Jake and Tom Trbojevic said to be unhappy with the way coach Trent Barrett has been treated.
Barrett's future remains uncertain at the Sea Eagles, with reports suggesting he won't be head coach for their final game against the Broncos.
Rumours floating around suggest assistant coach John Cartwright could take over for their final game for 2018 on Sunday afternoon.
Although, Manly's chairman Scott Penn has denied all claims of these rumours confirming Barrett will be the coach.
Despite these comments, it seems like Barrett's days are servely numbered.
James Hooper told The Big League Wrap on Monday there is a lot of behind the scenes issues occuring at Manly.
“I’m told the Trbojevic brothers are quite frustrated at the situation," Hooper said.
“They’ve relayed those concerns to the management of the club that they’re not happy with the treatment of Trent.
“There was a report that started kicking around on social media suggesting that Daly Cherry-Evans could somehow be going to the Brisbane Broncos and Jack Bird coming down to Manly — that’s been hosed.
“I spoke to Daly Cherry-Evans’ management and they said absolutely not, that will not be happening, that’s never been discussed.”
The Trbojevic brothers and Cherry-Evans still all have time left to serve on their contracts, with former NRL player Michael Ennis saying the club should be focusing on maintaining these stars long-term.
"(Cherry-Evans is a) huge part of the club, he’s one of their best players,” Ennis said.
“So too are the Trbojevic brothers. They can ill-afford to lose those two boys. They bleed maroon and white and they are the future of the club.
“Daly Cherry-Evans, yes, he’s on an enormous contract, but given the performances … he’s been good at stages and other times he’s been not so good.
“In recent weeks he’s shown his support publicly towards Trent Barrett who won’t be there.
“It wouldn’t surprise me in the least to see Daly on a different adventure, but not the Trbojevic brothers.
“They just cannot afford to let them go.
