The below list takes into account only players who are regular hookers, or players who's best position is wearing the number nine. Cameron Smith is not considered as he is currently unsigned.

9. Jake Friend

Friend is an incredibly difficult player to place. In my original draft I had him at sixth. Then I looked at his 2020 stats and could barely fit him into the 10.

Simply put, Friend is an incredible footballer who has seemingly played forever. He'd have a closet full of rep jumpers if not for a pretty handy player named Cameron Smith.

That said, he cops so much criticism from his own fans and ironically was never the best option for the Maroons at the No.9 this year.

Friend is absolutely a top 10 hooker. At 30 year's of age he is still at his peak and brings incredible experience.

  1. Cam McInnes makes the NSW side as reserve to Cook and kept Reece Robson in reserve grade and he misses the top 10? Your eyes mustn’t work!

  2. Yeah theres no way in the world you can pick Reece Robson on suspicion. Sorry thats ridiculous. McInnes is very good. Robson is not even in his orbit right now.
