For the purpose of this list, we've only considered players who are known primarily as a five-eighth.

Of course, there is big cross-over potential with halfbacks, however, we've stuck with players most recently recognised in the six jersey.

3. Jack Wighton

Jack Wighton was a somewhat controversial decision for the Dally M medal. Based on his performances, no one in the world can deny he was deep in the discussion. He was borderline unstoppable at times for the Green Machine.

Truthfully his 2020 stats in no way show his utter dominance. 13 tries, eight line-break assists, eight try assists, 102 metres per game run, over 275 metres kicked per game, 11 line breaks and eight forced dropouts. Hardly terrible stats but they don't show his true devastation.

His form was so good that he HAD to be there for the Blues. His ability to play multiple positions probably cost him the position he should have been picked in. He is now the main man in Canberra and looks set for a huge 2021.

  1. Youโ€™re biased. Wighton is still mostly only going to damage opposition teams , if they donโ€™t tackle well. As heโ€™s mostly just a running 5/8th.
