For the purpose of this list, we've only considered players who are known primarily as a five-eighth.
Of course, there is big cross-over potential with halfbacks, however, we've stuck with players most recently recognised in the six jersey.

6. Jarome Luai
The young Panthers five-eighth was undoubtedly the break out star of 2020. I was shocked when Penrith picked him over Burton once Cleary returned, however, it's safe to say that everything worked out at the foot of the mountains.
Across 23 appearances he scored seven tries, a ridiculous 23 try assists, 20 line break assists and tackled at almost 85%. His efforts earned him a spot in the extended NSW squad and honestly if it weren't for some ridiculous talent ahead of him, he would not have looked out of place in sky blue.
Luai is very capable of breaking into the top five. At only 23 year's of age, there are huge things ahead for a player who has already achieved great things. What a future!

Call me bias but swap Wighton and Keary around and your pretty spot on.
Youโre biased. Wighton is still mostly only going to damage opposition teams , if they donโt tackle well. As heโs mostly just a running 5/8th.
