Young Rooster prospects Sitili Tupouniua, Poasa Faamausili and Billy Smith have committed their short-term futures to the club.

Second-row player Tupouniua, who turns 22 later this month, penned a two-year extension, as did centre Smith, who is currently rehabbing a knee injury.

23-year-old prop Faamausili agreed to a three-year extension.

Tupouniua and Faamausili made their NRL debuts last year and have each made several appearances off the bench in 2019 for the 8-2 Roosters.

Smith, the youngest of the trio, is yet to make his NRL debut.

Sydney coach Trent Robinson expressed his delight at the signings.

"Itโ€™s been great to watch the development of Sitili, Poasa and Billy over the years," Robinson told the club's website.

โ€œIn their own right, their work ethic precedes them, and they embody the values we want in our players both on and off the field, so itโ€™s really pleasing that they will continue to represent our club and our area.โ€

The Roosters will look to bounce back from last week's shock loss to the Broncos when they travel to Newcastle to take on the Knights on Friday night.

  1. Yes its just superb how those Sydney Roosters look after our juniors. Something that soufffffffffs “TRANSIT LOUNGE” have forgotten in the past few years particularly last off season when they purchased 10 has been imports and let 10 go with a turnover of 20 players.๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ‘

  2. Look after your juniors?
Is New Zealand part of the Nuggets junior area now?
Two of those players come from New Zealand , yet again!
Surprisingly, Smith may actually be from Bronte. Though, even he the Nuggets had to poach from Rugby Union.
So was it yet another great effort not bringing these players through ? A couple of years they’ve been there!
What a system! Who can we poach now????

  3. By the way.
Smith has already done an ACL.
Funny thing with them. Do it once & there’s a wonderful chance of doing the ACL again.
At such a young age too! ๐Ÿ˜–
