Now over halfway through the 2020 NRL season, we've had some superstar performances from the usual culprits, seen incredible rookies emerge and other players develop.

Below is a list of the top 10 NRL improvers of 2020.

These are players who have either reached their potential or look like completely different players from their 2018/2019 selves.

Rookies won't be considered, i.e Harry Grant due to not playing NRL last season, while players such as George Williams will also be left out due to the difference in competition.

These are players who have improved dramatically in the past season or two.

Let us know below if you agree with our list or if we left anyone out.

1. Zac Lomax

For mine, the most improved player of 2020 is Dragons superstar centre Zac Lomax. This has occurred due to a variety of reasons, stemming from maturing in a physical and mental sense, to finally finding his natural position.

He showed some signs that he would be a real deal first grader last season after some flashy performances in 2018, his debut year. He started the season at fullback but never looked at home.

His return to the centres, paired with the return to the side of Matt Dufty has seen Lomax go from 'prospect' to legitimate NSW Origin contender. There's serious talk this kid will play Origin despite only 30 games in the top level.

In his 13 games this season he has literally doubled his try tally in 13 games last year with 10. His tackle efficiency has risen from 73% to 88% which shows a giant improvement.

His metres per game are up 30 to over 100 per appearance. He has more than doubled his line breaks and try assist from 2019.

Lomax is now a genuine star of the game despite his young age and relative inexperience. Undoubtedly the most improved player of the competition.
