Brisbane's Andrew McCullough has created potential salary cap ramifications for the club.

The 29-year old signed a four-year deal in 2017 worth around $500,000 per season, but the Daily Telegraph has revealed extra complications about the contract.

McCullough's deal has a two-year option in his favour, meaning while is technically off-contract this season, has the power to activate the final two years of his deal.

Given he is currently sidelined with a injury, the hooker is likely to take up the extra two years, providing potential salary cap problems for the Broncos.

Jake Turpin, 22, has done a tremendous job filling in for McCullough, while recruit James Segeyaro has been a revelation.

Brisbane have been rumoured to be shopping McCullough to rival clubs to help ease their situation.
