Even the greatest players have down seasons. Whether that be to a point they lose their spot, or just don't quite live up to their previous performances.

Below we look at 10 players who probably didn't have the 2020 they expected, whom I fully expect to bounce back in a big way.

We've left rookies off who are obviously expected to improve as they continue in their development.

1. Valentine Holmes

The former Shark megastar arrived in Townsville with very real expectations that he'd take the Cowboys back to the finals.

Unfortunately his season did not live up to the hype, or his reported contract value. Perhaps it was unfair to expect him to hit the ground running after a year in the US but either way he fell well short.

Their star recruit only scored four tries across 12 games. His last year at the Sharks saw him set a new club try-scoring record from fullback.

With a huge off-season under his belt and the return of Michael Morgan, Val will return to being one of the competitions elite in 2021.
