While all the hype of the week surrounds Wednesday night's State of Origin fixture, we expect most of the representative stars to return to action for their clubs this weekend.
The Storm host the Knights to open the round on Friday night, with Cameron Smith, Cooper Cronk and Will Chambers all with a question mark to their name in regards to backing up less than 48 hours after Origin.
Typically, the Storm's representative contingent have backed up from their Maroon duties, but given they're playing the lowly Knights coupled with the shortest possible turnaround, we could see at least one of their stars missing.
Jesse Bromwich will return to the side following his club-imposed suspension while Brandon Smith, Ryley Jacks and Young Tonumaipea are on stand-by for the Origin stars.
Dane Gagai will be teammates with the Storm trio on Wednesday night, with Brendan Elliot on hand for the Knights should the Origin winger sit out. Nathan Ross' contract comments saw him play in the reserves a fortnight ago however he will return against the Storm.
Mitchell Moses' hip gave him some issues last week however he is expected to play, while Nathan Brown will miss another week following his pre-game withdrawal with a rib injury.
Jacob Lillyman is the sole player backing up from Wednesday night in this fixture, while Solomone Kata and Manu Vatuvei are also in line to come into contention this week.
Last week's bye came at a good time for the Dragons, with Kurt Mann and Hame Sele given the extra week to recover from knocks they copped in Round 11. Josh Dugan and Tyson Frizell will be named, while Gareth Widdop is an outside chance to play after recovering from a knee injury.
Tuimoala Lolohea got his wish granted with a move to the Tigers and should make his debut this weekend as James Tedesco and Aaron Woods are expected to back up from Origin.
All 11 Origin stars are expected to return from Origin duty for the Roosters clash with the Broncos on Saturday night, while Andrew McCullough to be named after suffering a concussion two weeks ago.
After failing to get up for Origin, Johnathan Thurston has all but ruled himself out of the Cowboys' clash with the Titans on Saturday. Justin O'Neill and Michael Morgan will return to the side from Origin duties.
For the Titans, their injury list eases somewhat with Agnatius Paasi expected to return from a shoulder injury while Max King has been cleared from his hand injury, with both expected to be named on the bench.
Manly's Origin players Jake Trbojevic and Nate Myles are expected to line up for the Sea Eagles on Sunday with Darcy Lussick also set to return from injury.
The Raiders will have Josh Papalii returning from Origin as well, with Dunamis Lui the likely omission.
James Graham remains in doubt for the clash with the Panthers on Sunday, however, coach Des Hasler insists the enforcer will play. NSW representatives Brett Morris, David Klemmer and Josh Jackson are expected to return.
The Panthers are in a bid to find a new five-eighth following Bryce Cartwright's knee injury with Matt Moylan reportedly training at the position this week. Josh Mansour will return from his own knee injury, while James Fisher-Harris remains an outside chance to return from a hamstring strain.
The makeup of the Panthers side leaves a lot of questions as they look for their third win in a row.
