Canterbury coach Trent Barrett could be preparing to land a fourth Panthers player since switching from the mountains to Belmore.

Barrett has already added jack Hetherington to his side this year and will have Matt Burton and Brent Naden join the blue and white from next year.

Now, as reported by Wide World of Sports' The Molethe Bulldogs have their sights on Penrith hooker Mitch Kenny for next season as well.

Kenny finds himself as second-fiddle to Origin-calibre rake Apisai Koroisau and could be tempted to defect from the Panthers to land a starting role elsewhere.

Canterbury have made their interest in gaining a formidable dummy-half known as Barrett looks to continue in revolutionising his squad.

Kenny remains unsigned past this season and could be one of many senior figures pushed out of Penrith as the club looks to settle it's tight salary cap.

The Panthers re-signed start trio Isaah Yeo, Jarome Luai and Stephen Crichton to new deals earlier this season and are looking to extend forward James Fisher-Harris to a new lucrative deal.
