The Rabbitohs are facing an injury crisis at centre, with Braidon Burns set to miss a considerable period of time with a hamstring injury.
The 22-year-old was injured early in his side's win over the Titans, with initial fears that he had fractured his ankle in addition to the hamstring ailment.
It has since been confirmed that Burns has escaped serious ankle damage, but the talented youngster is still expected to be unavailable for as long as a month.
The Burns blow, paired with the potential absence of Greg Inglis, could leave the Rabbitohs short-handed at centre.
Souths coach Wayne Bennett expressed confidence in his remaining centres, while noting that Inglis is likely to return soon.
"We are down two," Bennett told NRL.com.
"[Burns] did his hamstring and his ankle … his hamstring went first and then an ankle problem.
"I think our depth is ok.
"[Inglis] might be back next week – he may not be either but he won't be far away."
Souths take on Manly on Saturday at Lottoland.
