The Bulldogs are set to gain the services of Roosters second-rower Chris Smith for the remainder of the 2018 NRL season.
The 24-year old comes into Canterbury's squad as a replacement for Raymond Faitala-Mariner, who suffered a season-ending PCL knee injury as well as a broken hand during New Zealand''s Denver Test loss to England.
Having already signed a two-year deal with the Bulldogs, Smith has been prematurely released by the Roosters ahead of the June 30 transfer deadline.
Smith made his NRL debut for the Panthers in 2015 where he played one game, before crossing to the Bulldogs the following season and adding a further two games to his tally.
