Brisbane Broncos coach Anthony Seibold has denied rumours which suggested the club was looking to offload prominent starter Alex Glenn.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Seibold clarified that it would make no sense for the club to let Glenn go, an opinion he shared with the back rower personally.
"I did see him because Alex wouldn't be in our leadership group or our starting back rower if we were shopping him around," he said this morning.
"If a club shops someone around or talks to a player it is generally to do with the salary cap, and I am not sure what kind of benefit we would get when Alex is off contract at the end of the year.
"It was a strange one for me so I just wanted him to understand where he is at.
"And he understood straight away.
