Manly have provided an updated on Joel Thompson after he was reportedly airlifted to hospital over the long weekend after an accident at a party.
He was at a party following the Koori Knockout when he was found unconscious on the Central Coast, as reported by Channel Nine.
The backrower provided more details to The Daily Telegraph on Wednesday.
“I just caught up with mates and rolled down a big hill until I hit a rocky end,” he said.
“My head hit it hard and I didn’t think I’d survive. But I’ve come through it.
“I’m in survival mode and it’s been a mess but I am OK.”
The Sea Eagles have released the following statement on Thompson's health via the club website.
"Joel suffered a facial injury and severe concussion following a fall on Sunday night on the Central Coast," the statement reads.
"He is in a stable condition and is expected to be released from a Sydney hospital later this week.
"The Club thanks everyone for their concerns."
