The Melbourne Storm have announced Ryley Jacks has signed a one-year contract extension.

In a boost to the Clubโ€™s playmaking stocks, the deal will see 25-year-old remain in Melbourne until at least the end of the 2018 season.

Recruited in the off-season from feeder side Sunshine Coast Falcons, Jacks has made a bright start to his NRL career.

An impressive pre-season saw Jacks rewarded with an NRL debut in Round 1 against the Bulldogs.

He remained in the side for the opening eight weeks of the season, forming a rock-solid pairing alongside Cooper Cronk in the halves.

Storm Football Director Frank Ponissi said the Club was pleased to retain Jacks beyond this season.

โ€œRyley has done everything right from the moment he walked into AAMI Park at the end of last year.

โ€œHe has all traits that we value highly in our players; great work ethic, an outstanding attitude and he is passionate about constantly trying to improve himself.

โ€œRyley fits in really well with our playing group and we have no doubt he will continue to improve as a player with the more experience he gains in our system.โ€
