As we have become used to in this NRL season, Round 6 played out last week with a few upsets that dented most players’ Superbru tips and kept the community average score at just over 50% for the round.
One of the said upsets was the Broncos beating the Warriors in what was a first defeat of the season for the NZ side which was only predicted by 9% of players. The Rabbitohs’ victory over the Roosters was a result that surprised an identical percentage of Superbru tippers, while the Bulldogs’ win by 17 against the Cowboys was another ‘major upset’.
As usual, we have some insights for you ahead of this week’s fixtures to give you an idea of how those who have already made their Round 7 tips see the action unfolding:
Two teams that were just mentioned in the above intro, both the Bulldogs and Roosters were involved in results that shocked Superbru tippers last week though only the Bulldogs will be happy about that! Tippers that have saved their predictions so far suggest moods will be reversed after this one though as 77% are backing the Roosters to bounce back with a win at the ANZ Stadium.
A very tricky game to call given how well each of these two teams has started the season. The Dragons are the only team still yet to lose this season as the Warriors slipped up for the first time in this campaign against the Broncos last week. The majority of the Superbru community expect the Dragons to make it 7 from 7 in Auckland but the narrow average overall pick of 2.5 shows how tight this one is likely to be.
Each of these sides has struggled for consistency this season making this another tricky match to tip. A narrow majority of 58% currently expect an away win for the Storm though the average overall pick shows an even slimmer margin than the Warriors v Dragons game (2.2).
After a poor start to the season of four consecutive defeats, the Raiders have put together two impressive wins in the last couple of rounds (both by 16). Despite this, 4 of every 5 players to have made their tips for this game have backed the Rabbitohs to win and improve their season record to 4 wins out of 7.
The Wests Tigers have only lost once so far this season and 93% of tippers expect that to still be the case after Saturday’s game. The average overall pick suggests they will beat the Knights by 9 in Sydney.
After their recent results that have seen 5 losses on the bounce, it’s perhaps a slight surprise to see the majority tipping the Cowboys here; though it is a slight majority of 57%.
Still, no win this season for the Eels... could this be the week!? Only 26% of people think so. Manly have only won 2 games themselves this season and will no doubt be treating this game as a big opportunity to get back on track here.
Finally, the Panthers beat the Titans by 23 last time out in another impressive performance to make it 5 wins out of 6 for the season. 82% of players expect them to beat the Sharks away in Round 7.
