Round 3 Tipping Insights: Are the Storm set to bounce back?

Round 2 of the NRL season saw a mixed bag of results in terms of predictability as the average score at Superbru saw players tip just over half of the eight outcomes correctly.

The least expected result of the round came in Melbourne as the West Tigers managed a 10-8 victory over the Storm with just 6% of players tipping that outcome.

Regardless of that slip-up, the majority are tipping the Storm to get back to winning ways this week.

Here’s some insight into which way the Superbru crowd are leaning for each of the Round 3 fixtures at the time of writing.

Storm vs. Cowboys

79% of players expect the Storm to put things right on their own turf and defeat the Cowboys on Thursday. The average pick of Storm by 5 suggests this one will be tight though.

Bulldogs vs. Panthers

The crowd are understandably going with the form side here, as the Panthers are being tipped by 81% of players, having managed 2 from 2 in the 2018 season thus far. If correct, the Bulldogs will have to wait even longer for their first win of the campaign.

Wests Tigers vs. Broncos

One of the most evenly balanced games in terms of tips as things stand, 55% of players are expecting the Tigers to win this one. The Broncos pulled off a hard-fought 24-20 victory over the Cowboys last time out and that will undoubtedly be in the minds of the 45% backing them for a second win on the bounce here, could they be the first team to defeat the Tigers this season?

Raiders vs. Warriors

As with the Bulldogs vs. Panthers clash, this is another match that sees a team with no wins on the board host a side with a 100% record. 62% are backing the Warriors to make it 3 from 3.

Rabbitohs vs. Sea Eagles

Two consecutive losses for the Rabbitohs so far has led to just 27% of players tipping them to beat the Sea Eagles this week. Just 54% of players were backing the Sea Eagles last weekend when they beat the Eels 54-0, so it’s understandable to see that percentage increase considerably this time around!

Eels vs. Sharks

No doubt as a consequence of that hammering in the last round, just 37% of players are tipping the Eels to beat the Sharks in Sydney this weekend despite the Sharks also losing their opening two matches.

Titans vs. Dragons

This one sees one of the heaviest majority’s of Round 3 with 83% of Superbru players tipping the Dragons to continue their fine start to the season. The average pick as things stand is for the away side to defeat the Titans by 6 in Queensland.

Roosters vs. Knights

Finally, 66% of players are tipping the Roosters to pick up a win at the Allianz Stadium against the Knights, despite the away team picking up two wins from two so far. The Roosters do of course have some momentum themselves having beaten the Bulldogs 30-12 in Round 2.
