Roosters to sweat on Mitchell verdict

Should Mitchell be hit with a suspension?

Roosters star Latrell Mitchell could join teammate Dylan Napa on the sidelines after he gave away a penalty for a crusher tackle on Cronulla's Josh Dugan on Saturday night.

Despite not being placed on report during the match, Mitchell could see himself cited by the match review committee, with Melbourne centre Will Chambers now eligible to play after serving a three-game ban for a similar incident.

After handing in an early gulity plea last week, Mitchell now has carry-over points, meaning even a grade one charge will see him miss at least one week.

Dugan stayed down after the incident, although Roosters coach Trent Robinson told reporters post-match that isn't something that should factor into the committee's decision.

"You can't look at the actions of the player on that," Robinson said.

"If they're going to go off then fine, but you can play for penalties at different times as well. That's up to someone else."
