Robbie Farah has indicated that he would consider a move into coaching once he hangs up the boots.
While he says he is likely to take up a promised ambassador’s role at the Wests Tigers, Farah says he and Tigers head coach Michael Maguire have discussed coaching.
"There are certain parts of coaching that have appeal, but whether it would be a part-time role or working with the hookers, and whether that passion develops I’m not sure," Farah told the Herald.
"I take it upon myself to try and help out the other boys here at training, including Jacob (Liddle). It was the same at the Rabbitohs with ‘Cooky’ (Jacob Cook).
"It’s something I enjoy and having played the game so long, I’ve had the ups and downs and learned a lot. It’s about passing on as much knowledge as I can to the younger guys coming through."
Wests halfback Luke Brooks endorsed his teammate’s potential career move.
"He’s got plenty of experience in the game and he’s got plenty of knowledge,” Brooks said speaking to the Herald.
"He’d be good. But he might be an angry coach. I wouldn’t want to get on his bad side.
"There would be plenty of sprays."
Farah has yet to make a decision on his playing career past this season.
The 35-year-old will be out-of-contract at the end of 2019 after signing a one-year contract with the Tigers.
