Wests Tigers' Josh Reynolds is receiving little interest form rival clubs, according to a report by The Sydney Morning Herald.
However, the five-eighth's management is believed to be quietly confident that he will find a new home for 2020.
Reynolds would reportedly prefer to stay in Sydney but at this stage he may not have the luxury of deciding, especially given his $800,000 salary.
"It's still early days. There a lot of machinations to come but there hasn't been anything significant yet, no," Reynolds' manager George Mimis told the Herald.
Reynolds revealed last week he would be open to a return to Canterbury, however, coach Dean Pay shut down such reports after his side's loss to Brisbane on Thursday.
Penrith coach Ivan Cleary also ruled out the prospect of landing the playmaker, leaving the Rabbitohs, Sea Eagles, Eels, Sharks and Dragons as potential Sydney destinations.
Manly's Des Hasler admitted the club was in no position to be making a play for Reynolds.
"We're no chance with the cap," Hasler said.
"We already have sanctions and we are just getting over that.
"He will land somewhere but it won't be in the maroon and white."
Mimis was confident that more suitors will emerge in due course.
"There are a couple of waves. Obviously the pre-season is one of those especially for teams with new coaches coming in and the rosters changing," Mimis said.
"But you also have some movement in September when teams aren't in the finals start to make some moves.
"I have to say the Tigers have been tremendous throughout the year. Obviously they have Benji there but they are happy to honour the contract if a better option doesn't arise."
