The Daily Telegraph's Dean "The Bulldog" Ritchie has provided an update on the climate of the Panthers' list, suggesting some of their players could be on the way out.
After losing four of their past six games, Ritchie suggests that it may be time to make some changes.
"There's a lot of rumours around about the Panthers looking to offload some talent," Ritchie said on Triple M.
"They think that with re-signing and getting out there in the open market that one or two players may have to go.
"I texted Gus (Phil Gould) today and put it on him that Trent Merrin and Jimmy Tamou were two names that I had heard.
"He came back to his credit Gus and he denied it. He said 'no they're not for sale'.
"But I have found out that both have been given a tiny little kick in the behind to lift their form.
"So there might be changes at Penrith next year not only at coaching level but also in the playing ranks.
"There's two names but I've got to be fair dinkum with you here, it has been denied right now, it's a 'watch this space' situation."
