Jesse Ramien will return to Cronulla in 2020 with the NRL signing off on his contract with the Sharks.
NRL.com is reporting the Sharks have had the four-year deal rubber-stamped by the NRL.
There were question marks on whether the club would have enough space in their salary cap after signing Ramien to fill out their top 30 squad.
It's not known if the club will be forced to move on any other players but the reports suggest that star forward Andrew Fifita has taken a six-figure pay cut to help ease the salary cap constraints at the club.
Ramien played with the Knights in 2019 but was abruptly released in August after reportedly falling out with head coach Nathan Brown.
The Sharks have been working overtime since then to get their salary cap in order to have Ramien return, with the Cowboys and Bulldogs also interested in his services.
