Broncos back Jordan Kahu is considering switching codes to rugby union, according to a report by The Courier Mail.

Brisbane face a salary cap squeeze having already sent Josh McGuire to the Cowboys and are reportedly keen to release Alex Glenn to the Titans, while Kahu could become the latest casualty.

Kahu is contracted at Red Hill until the end of the 2019 season, but the club will reportedly not stand in his way if he wishes to play elsewhere.

The Titans emerged as a potential landing spot up for Kahu until their signing of Manly centre Brian Kelly, which has made a union code switch a strong reality for the 27-year old.

“I will go back to union one day,” Kahu told The Courier Mail last year, who grew up playing the 15-man format.

“Growing up as a union boy, it’s in my blood and I don’t think I’d ever be satisfied if I didn’t really go back and at least try.

“I love rugby, I watch it most weekends. Every big game I watch and a lot of boys I grew up with are playing at a high level so I enjoy supporting them as well.

“I don’t have to play it on a professional level. Even if it’s when I’m finished with league, I just want to go back and have a run around and make sure I can still play rugby.”
