The Canterbury Bulldogs are considering placing an offer in front of Sydney Rooster Latrell Mitchell, which would make him one of the highest paid players in the NRL.

While Fox Sports (10-years, $11 million) and the Sydney Morning Herald (five-years, $5 million) are reporting different deals in length, both believe Mitchell would be making at least $1 million a season if he moved to Belmore.

Mitchell is currently contracted to the Roosters until the end of 2020, meaning rival clubs can officially offer the young star a deal on November 1.

The 22-year-old is currently earning $450,000 this season according to the Herald, with the Dogs' offer set to double that.

Mitchell has been at the centre of NRL news over the past month, after strong form for the Roosters before a poor Origin I saw him left out of the Blues' squad for Game Two in Perth.
