It is understood that South Sydney will not sign on George Burgess due to salary cap issues.
The three brothers (Sam, George and Tom) made their names playing together at Redfern but according to the Daily Telegraph, the Bunnies won't be able to keep George around when his contract runs out at the end of the 2019 season.
Still only 27, George is considering a return home to the English Super League.
The other two brothers have their contracts all sewn up to 2023, with Sam signing a four-year extension in September and Tom in January.
George has played 140 games since 2012 and still plays an important role in the club's push to ultimate success.
In the meantime, Souths are still waiting to hear from the NRL on what salary cap relief, if any, they'll receive from the recent retirement of star centre Greg Inglis.
Souths are hoping this can be resolved as soon as possible to allow the club to look at finding a long-term replacement for GI.
Souths have been linked with several players in the past fortnight including Brisbane forward Tevita Pangai Jr.
However, the Daily Telegraph writes that well-placed Souths sources deny the club is chasing Pangai.
