Canterbury are targeting English Super League duo Luke Thompson and Alex Walmsley, according to The Daily Telegraph.
The St Helens pair are coming off big performances in last week's 26-6 win over Salford in the Super League grand final at Old Trafford.
Bulldogs chief executive Andrew Hill has secretly flown to England to begin negotiations with them as they prepare for Great Britain's Tests against New Zealand, Tonga and PNG next month.
Canterbury would not confirm that Hill was overseas, however, he was reportedly spotted in Merseyside on Tuesday.
Thompson and Walmsley are both under contract for next season, meaning the earliest they could make the move to the NRL is 2021.
Hill is due to return to Australia on Thursday and could not be contacted in England.
As many as six NRL clubs are believed top have interest Thompson, who is regarded as the best emerging front-rower in England.
