Broncos prop Matt Lodge is expected to leave Brisbane in favour of a return to his hometown Sydney after this season, reports the Sydney Herald.
It is believed the 23-year old has an option in his contract for next year, but is homesick and desperate to move back to Sydney.
Lodge sat out the 2016 and 2017 seasons following his violent New York assault in 2015, before receiving a lifeline from the Broncos.
He enjoyed a strong season in 2018 and signed a two-year contract extension at the end of the year, despite reportedly considering a move.
The Broncos have struggled mightily so far in 2019, with Thursday's comprehensive 38-6 loss to the Rabbitohs dropping them to 2-6, and 13th place on the ladder.
The Broncos will face Manly at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.
