Raiders Charlie Gubb on his way to Super League

Canberra Raiders prop Charlie Gubb has probably played his last NRL game and may be on his way to English Super League as early as next week.

It is believed that Gubb has received an offer from three clubs over the past 24 hours.

The Raiders signed Gubb to a one-year-deal with the opportunity to sign him on for 2019. As they look unlikely to accept the option to bring Gubb back, the 28-year-old will be forced to look around for a new home.

It's believed that Gubb had some interest from the North Queensland Cowboys who wanted to sign him before the June 30 window, but the Raiders wanted to keep him as cover.

Gubb only played five of his 45 NRL games for the green machine. His season with the team was interrupted by an injury and a one-week-suspension.

He initially wanted to remain in Canberra, due to the love his had for the lifestyle. Now that it is no longer an option, he looks set to switch to the Super League.

"Charlie and myself were really keen to stay at Canberra, but you've got to be wanted. Because of the lack of response we're now considering offers in England in the Super League," Gubb's manager Frank Endacott said on Thursday.
