James Roberts remains under an injury cloud heading into South Sydney's preliminary final against Canberra Friday night after Rabbitohs training, according to Fox Sports.
The Tuesday morning session at Redfern saw concerns raised when the 26-year-old trained away from the main group, apparently still not fully cleared to rejoin regular match practice as he nurses a thumb injury from last weekend's semi final win over Manly.
Several positional changes were observed in the simulation while Roberts conducted his session on the outside, notably including skipper Sam Burgess moving into the middle from the right flank.
Reports still indicate, however, that the 2018 NSW Origin player, nicknamed 'The Jet', is still every chance to reclaim his starting place come Friday night's encounter with the Raiders at GIO Stadium.
Talented young lock Cameron Murray also stayed clear of the main contact group at the morning session and remained with Roberts in a rehab pairing as he works his way back from a shoulder injury, with the duo getting through running drills as Wayne Bennett prepares to make his calls Tuesday evening.
