The 18-year-old centre stated his excitement of being promoted to the senior side.

โ€œIโ€™m super happy and grateful to commit my future to Panthers,โ€ Tago told the club website.

โ€œI really want to make the most of this opportunity, keep working hard and put my best foot forward for the club.โ€

Hopgood has signed will join the senior list for the 2021 season with the Panthers holding an option to extend his contract for a further 12 months.

The 21-year-old will be elevated from the development contract he signed in June last year and revealed his gratitude to be joining Cleary's squad.

โ€œTo get moved up to the top squad is really exciting cause itโ€™s one step closer to an NRL debut,โ€ Hopgood said.

โ€œFrom the moment I came to Panthers Iโ€™ve been chasing that dream and now itโ€™s a lot closer.โ€

May, the younger brother of Panthers five-eighth Tyrone, also joins the squad after developing through the ranks at the Riff.

โ€œIโ€™m very grateful for this opportunity and so proud to be part of this club,โ€ May said.

โ€œI honestly never thought Iโ€™d reach this point so itโ€™s a bit surreal, but Iโ€™m ready to make the most of it.โ€

Cleary echoed the efforts of the young trio, stating the promotions are well deserved.

โ€œAs a development club weโ€™re committed to creating opportunities for players who come through the Panthers system,โ€ Cleary said.

โ€œIzack, Jโ€™maine and Taylan have earned upgraded contracts with their performances in our junior grades, and their particularly impressive effort throughout this pre-season.

โ€œAll three of them stepped up over summer and showed they can compete at the same level as our top squad.

โ€œWe look forward to their ongoing development and are excited about their future in Panthers colours.โ€

The Panthers will start their 2021 season against the Cowboys on Saturday, March 13 at Panthers Stadium.

  1. Very young guys to be in the top squad already. That may come back to haunt them later in the season. I know itโ€™s a must do, to keep other players at the club.
Thought the Canterbury Cup team & Jersey Flegg would struggle this year. As thereโ€™s hardly anyone there with any experience, or anyone that weโ€™d know in the squads. However, I think everyone in those teams thinks that first grade at the club is achievable now. As shown by the trial results against Parramatta. So I think big efforts can be expected each week in those grades .
