The Parramatta Eels have tabled Mitchell Moses a three-year contract extension, perย NRL.com.
The 24-year old's agent Isaac Moses has been unable to strike a deal with the club due to his dealings with Israel Folau's controversial social media post.ย
The offer comes just six months after Moses nearly departed the club, however, returnedย to pre-season with a profound attitude that has seen him recapture some of his best form.
Additionally, the Eels will meet with Clint Gutherson's manager Sam Ayoub prior to the club's Easter Monday clash against the Wests Tigers to discuss his future.
It is understood that the club have revised their original offer to Gutherson worth $1.5 million over three years and have upgraded it to a three-year $1.9 million deal.
Ayoub reportedly turned down that offer and is looking to get Gutherson a deal in the vicinity of $2.8 million over four years.
South Sydney, Manly and North Queensland are all in the market for a fullback and could look to lure Gutherson should he not re-sign with the Eels.
It more than coincidence that these so called elite players looking for multi million dollar deals are playing out of their skin in their final contract year…..watch Gutherson and Moses form in particular tank after they sign.
Manly in need of a fullback????? Um not sure how to answer that.
Yes he has injury concerns but when fit and he will get past this hammy, he is the most influential fullback in the comp.
We need a centre and then can be a backup fullback for turbo
Most influential fullback in the comp. That’s why he is the blues and Australian fullback……..
The reason he’s not the Australian fullback at the moment is due to his versatility in playing multiple positions in the backline. UNLIKE TEDESCO who can only play one position. One injury or slip in form to Teddy and Tommy is in there like Flynn. And before Gutho that’s for sure!!
No, he isn’t the Australian or NSW fullback because Tedesco is a better fullback at the moment. Sure Turbo is more versatile, which is why he still gets picked, but it has nothing to do with why he isn’t fullback.
“The reason heโs not the Australian fullback at the moment is due to his versatility”.
I’d argue the versatility is the main reason/could almost argue, the only reason, he’s in the Australian squad. I’m not having a crack at him, or Manly etc, and I obviously rate him, but I think he’s more of a top 3 to 5 (not top 3) for Aust. at FB, wing or centre, but he’s experienced at rep level, and a strong contender in all 3 positions, which gives him an edge over (equal/slightly better) single position players.
