Brisbane prop Tevita Pangai Junior is a highly sort after player, with the Sydney Roosters entering the race to sign the Togan international, according to The Mole.

The 22-year-old, is off contract and is yet to sign a new deal with the Broncos, opening up possible discussions with other clubs.

The Newcastle Knights, where Pangai Junior played his junior footy, are keen to coax the prop back to the Hunter, with the Roosters now set to join the contest.

The eastern suburbs team look to be the most financially secure club to sign Pangai Junior, who is asking for at least $600,000, with their capability to find room within the salary cap and attract third party sponsors.

The reputation of the Tricolours could bring Pangai Junior down south, with coach Trent Robinson interested in adding the powerful forward as a weapon amongst his stocks for 2019.

At this stage, only the influence of supercoach Wayne Bennett could stop the potential deal from happening, as Bennett is renowned for talking players into taking pay cuts in order to stay at the Broncos.
