Penrith Panthers vs Parramatta Eels

Kick-off: Saturday, February 26 - 5:00pm (AEDT)
Venue: BlueBet Stadium, Penrith

Final team news
Penrith will go into today's clash without Spencer Leniu, who is replaced in the front row by J'maine Hopgood. Liam Henry has been added to the bench.

The Eels are unchanged.

Earlier
Penrith will play their final trial without a handful of likely Round players in Dylan Edwards, James Fisher-Harris, Liam Martin, Isaah Yeo and Nathan Cleary, who will need to prove his fitness.

Sean O'Sullivan is firming as the man to start the season in the number seven if Cleary can't rebound to full fitness, given he is named to play again this week. Elsewhere Charlie Staines is at fullback, Moses Leota, Apisai Koroisau and Jarome Luai will also play, as will Brian To'o and Stephen Crichton.

The Eels have name a near full-strength squad for the trial match, with fullback Clint Gutherson, five eighth Dylan Brown and prop Junior Paulo all set to feature.

Promising youngster Will Penisini holds his place in the centres, pairing with Waqa Blake.

Ryan Matterson, Isaiah Papali'i and Reagan Campbell-Gillard also join Paulo in Brad Arthur's attacking pack.

  1. Braydon Trindall is suspended until round 3, so the obvious starter for rounds 1 and 2 would be Matt Moyland.

However, he isn’t even on the bench, (injured or dropped), so does that mean wunderkid Luke Metcalf is going to get the #7 spot for round 1 ?
