The first week of the NRL trials is in the books, and more big guns will come out to play during Week 2, with teams beginning to name their teams for the week ahead.

The final official tune up for the season for all 16 clubs will see most coaches pick something closer to their Round 1 run on team then we saw for most clubs last week, with plenty of stars set to be given their first run.

Sydney Roosters vs Wests Tigers

Kick-off: Friday, February 25 - 8:10pm (AEDT)
Venue: Central Coast Stadium, Gosford

Final team news
Neither the Roosters or Tigers have made any changes to their named teams.

Earlier
The Roosters, with James Tedesco and Luke Keary still recovering from injury, have decided to leave out other stars for their final hit out before the season, with no sign of Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Siosiua Taukieaho or Angus Crichton.

Lachlan Lam will play at fullback, while Joseph Manu has been shifted to the halves in an apparent sign of things to come if Keary doesn't make the start of the season.

Elsewhere, Daniel Tupou, Paul Momirovski, Sam Walker, Sam Verrills, Victor Radley and Sitili Tupouniua will have their first game of the season.

The Tigers, who were closer than the Roosters to full strength last week, have left out Alex Twal, but are otherwise close to full strength.

Daine Laurie, Jackson Hastings, Jacob Liddle, Ken Maumalo and Oliver Gildart have all been named to play, while James Tamou, Stefano Utoikamanu and Joe Ofahengaue will make up the middle third.

  1. Braydon Trindall is suspended until round 3, so the obvious starter for rounds 1 and 2 would be Matt Moyland.

However, he isn’t even on the bench, (injured or dropped), so does that mean wunderkid Luke Metcalf is going to get the #7 spot for round 1 ?
