For the first time in the NRL's history, the public has been made aware of the total value of each club's third-party agreements, as the NRL look to further improve transparency and integrity surrounding the league's contract.
In 2018, the total value of the TPAs across the entire league was $4.2 millions, which is just under 3% of the entire salary cap.
Melbourne and Brisbane are way above the league average of $264,000 in TPAs, with the Storm having over $1 million, and the Broncos close to $800,000.
In 2018, a total of 205 agreements were made with 94 players, although that doesn't include minor non-cash deals (like equipment) that most NRL players have.
NRL chief operating offices Nick Weeks spoke about the TPAs reveal, and believes it's a step forward for the game.
"For the first time, fans, clubs and others will be able to see for themselves exactly the volume of third party agreements that exist in the game. We think that's a good thing," Weeks told NRL.com.
"One of the challenges we've seen is some misconceptions in the game about volume of TPAs which has caused some clubs and others to make bad decisions around the salary cap rules."
