NRL stars Benji Marshall and James Graham do not see a way for Israel Folau to return to rugby league.
Folau was stood down by Rugby Australia for his religiously-motivated social media post last week and has since been linked to a return to the NRL.
However, two of rugby league's most respected stars Marshall and Graham do not believe Folau can return to the league.
“It’s up to Todd (Greenberg), really, and from what Todd’s come out and said about how they’ve backed up same-sex marriage, I don’t think that will be allowed,” Marshall told NRL 360 on Fox League.
“I’m all for freedom of speech but when you use your freedom of speech against hating — I’m not for that.”
Graham also disagreed with the comments.
“I really can’t see him being allowed to play rugby league for what he said,” Graham said.
“Reading what he said after it, there’s no apology, I just can’t see a way back for him and I think that’s quite sad to be honest with you.”
