Young prop forward Moeaki Fotuaika has confirmed his stay on the Gold Coast, signing a four-year extension with the club.

The 18-year old will be a Development Player in 2018, before joining the Top 30 for 2019-2021. The promising forward was joint NYC ‘Player of the Year’ at the club last season and has impressed as part of the full-time squad this pre-season.

After representing the Junior Kiwis in 2017 and playing 22 matches last season in the NYC, the wrecking-ball is looking forward to the future here at the Titans.

“It was an easy decision for me as the club gave me my first real opportunity,” Fotuaika said.

“Last year was one to remember and I’m thankful for the opportunity to train with the NRL squad during the pre-season.

“I’m going to do everything I can to learn from the senior members this year and hopefully in 2019 I get the chance to play alongside them.

“The four years gives me a great chance to really concentrate on my footy and to perform to the best of my ability.”

Head Coach Garth Brennan had no hesitation in extending the contract of Fotuaika.

“Moeaki is a player who has impressed me since my arrival here at the club,” Brennan said. “For someone so young to have such a level head on his shoulders is fantastic.

“Although young in age, he has shown me that he has all the attributes to reach the NRL and we look forward to working with him to get there.

“He will learn a lot throughout 2018 and he is an exciting prospect that all Titans members and fans should be excited about.”
