Brisbane's Matt Lodge has ripped into former teammate Josh McGuire following Thursday night's heated clash against the Cowboys in Townsville.
The duo were going at it all night in what was a fiery contest between the Queensland teams.
Channel 9's Brad Fittler spoke to Lodge about his niggle with McGuire.
โLodgy, you and Josh McGuire got going?โ Fittler asked.
โNah weโre good mates, it was all in the spirit of the game,โ Lodge responded.
The Broncos enforcer continued:โNo I donโt like him."
โIโm glad because I donโt think I treat my mates like that,โ remarked Fittler.
Lodge detailed how much of a physical battle the game was.
โIt was rough in the middle itโs always a fast game against them, I donโt know why,โ he said.
โI felt like we were on top a bit but didnโt capitalise and it just went down to the wire again.
โItโs good that we hung in tough. We could have thrown the game away and dropped our bundle a bit but we kept competing and got in to them.โ
Another incident saw McGuire involved in an alleged eye gouging incident on David Fifita.
Fox League's Michael Ennis saw no malice in the action with McGuire at his pestering best.
โHis hand certainly comes into contact with the Brisbane playerโs face,โ Michael Ennis told Thursday Night League on Fox League.
โHard to see on that angle whereabouts his thumb is, but it looks as though heโs just leaning on his face.
โBut given his history, you would think heโd steer clear of that.โ
I find it hard to support the Broncs while Lodge is there.
Yeah, didn’t lodge allegedly gouge Finucane last week
What Matt Lodge does on the football field is irrelevant to what he has done during his life, and is now a somewhat reformed person, who is no mug when he plays despite the grubby antics from Josh Maguire, who has taken over from Michael Ennis as the game’s serial pest.
