The Lebanese Rugby League Federation has threatened players with suspensions, fines and prosecution if they go through with their plans to cover up the Lebanon Federation logo.

The country's biggest players revealed plans to cover up the logo in protest over the governing body.

Players have voiced their disapproval of the LRLF's governance since the 2017 World Cup and made threats of a Test boycott, which was shunned after learning it could strip the nation of its World Cup status.

The LRLF released a statement denouncing the proposed actions and threatened sanctions on any players who intend to cover the logo.

1. Any player who conceals the CEDARS badge โ€“ which is the emblem the federation selected to be worn by the representative of al watan, the nation โ€“ will face misconduct charges.

2. Any player who conceals the CEDARS badge will be suspended with immediate effect pending the outcomes of any misconduct hearing.

3. The LRLFย will seek significant monetary fines on any person found guilty of misconduct related to this incident.

4. The Lebanese public prosecutorโ€™s office has been made aware of the incident and will launch an investigation in coordination with the LRLF. It is a criminal offence to denigrate the national emblem of the Republic of Lebanon.โ€

NRL stars Josh Mansour, Robbie Farah, Tim Mannah, Mitchell Moses and Michael Lichaa are among the stars that have led the protest.
