Warriors centre Solomone Kata has recently been linked with a move to Melbourne to join the Storm, although he says he hasn't entertained the thought of leaving New Zealand.

Kata has been playing in the Canterbury Cup after losing his place in the Warriors' first grade side, although he's completely focused on trying to break back into Stephen Kearney's side above all else.

“Nah. I’ve still got another year on my contract at the Warriors. I saw something on the media about that, but I haven’t talked to anyone. Right now I’m just working on my performance to get back up into the top side," Kata told nswrl.com.au.

“I haven’t heard anything from my agent, or from the club. I just saw it, but it’s not important to me because I’m working on my performance [with the Warriors].”

Kata played the first six games of the Warriors' season before being dropped, and is yet to earn a recall to first grade.

Following 93 appearances for the Warriors since debuting in 2015, Kata has been sent to reserve grade to find some form, and he's hoping a recall is just around the corner.

"I just know what to work on and get better. I’m pretty happy with the way I’m playing and I’ve just got to wait for another chance.”
