New Zealand forward Isaiah Papaliā€™i has been made unavailable for selection for the Warriorsā€™ season opener.

Coach Stephen Kearney told NRL.com that it is a club issue behind Papaliā€™iā€™s unavailability.

ā€œHeā€™s not [up for selection], no. Itā€™s a club issue, but he will be available for selection next week for sure,ā€ Kearney said.

ā€œHeā€™s not available for selection from a club point of view, but he will be ready for round two.ā€

Kearney wouldnā€™t divulge any further details.

ā€œItā€™s a club issue, thatā€™s the issue,ā€ he said.

Teammate Agnatius Paasi also refused to shed any light on the situation, but did reveal that it was disappointing from Papaliā€™i.

ā€œIt is disappointing from his end, because he has let the boys down, and Iā€™m pretty sure he would have loved to have played round one,ā€ Paasi said.

ā€œBut his actions led him that way and all we can do is support him and help him and hopefully he will be in the team next week.

ā€œI have [spoken to Isaiah] and just offered my support to him and just seeing if he is alright.

ā€œHeā€™s doing well, thatā€™s the main thing, and I know his family have got his back.ā€

The Warriors begin their 2019 campaign at home on Saturday afternoon when they take on Canterbury-Bankstown.
