Rabbitoh Sam Burgess will watch his side's first final next weekend from the sidelines, after accepting a one-game ban for pulling the hair of Rooster Billy Smith.

Burgess was reportedly shocked at the initial suspension according to NRL.com, but with carryover points and some advice from his lawyer, Burgess and the club have decided not to fight the charge.

The same can't be said for Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, who will front the judiciary on Tuesday night in a bid to overturn his one-game ban for a high shot on Bunnies prop Liam Knight.

Likely joining him there will be Martin Taupau, with the Sea Eagles enforcer set to roll the dice and try to fight his grade three careless high tackle charge.

Taupau is staring down the barrel of a two-game ban if he unsuccessfully fights the charge, but with the Sea Eagles set to start their finals campaign in do-or-die circumstances, the club is expected to fight the charge.

Parramatta's Kane Evans will miss his side's first final, unless he contests a grade two high tackle charge.

Given Evans won't receive an extra week off if he fights and loses, the Eels may decide to challenge the suspension.
