The Broncos will today take an early guilty plea on the dangerous throw charge levelled at Joe Ofahengaue.

Ofahengaue was hit with a grade three charge from the match review committee yesterday for his tackle on Titans’ lock Max King in the 54-0 victory on Saturday night.

After viewing the incident today, the Broncos have decided to accept the early guilty plea on the charge.

Ofahengaue was facing a five-week ban for the tackle if the club had contested the charge and lost.

But because of his clean record, that included no carry-over points or loading, the Broncos’ forward will now miss just three weeks.

Ofahengaue will be eligible to return to the field when the Broncos face the North Queensland Cowboys in Townsville on August 31.

The Broncos also accepted a minor contrary conduct charge on centre James Roberts, who will receive a fine only.
