Jarryd Hayne’s agent rules out overseas move for star

Jarryd Hayne’s manager Wayne Beavis has ruled out a move overseas should the Gold Coast star be forced out of the Titans.

Rugby union has been thrown up as a potential destination for Hayne should he and the Gold Coast part ways but Beavis has said he's had no contact with the rival code.

This follows reports of a falling out between Hayne and Titans coach Neil Henry.

The Titans board met to discuss the situation and while there were no official takeaways from the meeting, it seems Henry's days as the head coach on the Gold Coast are numbered.

Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, Beavis confirmed that Hayne's priority was to stay in rugby league.

"Of course he does," said Beavis.

"He (Jarryd) will probably fly down with the team, so I sent him a note this morning saying we’ll catch up when you get here.

"I’ve had no discussions with them (Gold Coast). They haven’t contacted me.

"It’s business as usual.

"There is no issue. He (Jarryd) has done nothing wrong."

It's likely even if Henry is sacked, the club will allow Hayne permission to discuss his options with other clubs.

But on a salary worth more than $1 million, it will be hard for any club to fit him in their salary cap without the Titans paying a significant portion of it.
