The Canberra Raiders have announced captain Jarrod Croker has agreed to a new deal which will keep him at the club until the end of 2020.

Croker is already on contract with the Green Machine until the end of the 2018 season but has extended his deal for a further two seasons.

The inspirational Raiders Captain continues to set new point-scoring records for the club and passed the 200 NRL match mark earlier this season. He is on track to become one of the most capped players in the clubโ€™s history and at the age of just 26 could challenge some of the NRLโ€™s records before his career finishes.

Croker said heโ€™s thrilled to remain in Canberra as Captain of the club he loves and said heโ€™s looking forward to a strong finish to the season and then building over the next three years.

โ€œIโ€™m a proud Raider and to re-sign at the club is something Iโ€™ve always wanted to do,โ€ Croker said. โ€œWeโ€™ve got a wonderful group of players and coaches here who I believe have the talent to win a premiership and Iโ€™m looking forward to being a part of that.

โ€œWeโ€™ve still got the opportunity to play finals footy this year which is exciting and I know the teams focused on winning the last four games of the season and playing in the finals.โ€

Raiders CEO Don Furner said the re-signing of Croker was an easy decision and the club are excited about having the Captain remain with the team for the long-term.

โ€œRe-signing Jarrod was an easy decision for us as heโ€™s an extremely valuable asset both on and off the field,โ€ Furner said.

โ€œHeโ€™s setting records at the club which may never be broken and we know heโ€™s the right player to lead the team into the future. As Captain, he continues to impress us with his leadership of the team and we know he commands the respect of his peers and the clubโ€™s members and supporter base.โ€
